Netball France is excited to launch their first series of at-home training videos, developed in conjunction with one of England’s premier netball clubs, London Pulse, a member of the Vitality Netball Super League (VNSL). These videos, for players of all levels of experience, were designed specifically for those who need to train by themselves and at home, and call for very little equipment, ensuring that anyone who is interested will be able to take part.
The videos, a series of six, thirty-minute sessions, were each written by a London Pulse Netball Premier League (NPL) athlete, and feature demonstrations of the activities by the NPL athletes as well as a complete session run by members and players from the Netball France community. Videos are in a mix of French and English, with subtitles available in both languages. Sessions will cover fitness building exercises, ball skills and court skills, and are suitable for players of all ages, genders and levels of netball understanding.
With the Coupe de France de Netball only two months away, the training sessions offer members of the netball community in France, and across the globe, the chance to get physically prepared for the tournament after months away from the court, unable to practice. Videos will be released on the Netball France website and YouTube channel weekly on Fridays at 5pm CEST (GMT+2), with the first video launched today.
“One of the key requests from our members following this year’s AGM was additional training resources to support their development activities, so we’re really excited to deliver this training program that will be completed by netballers all over France and beyond.” says inaugural Netball France president, Bethany Lord. “We’re incredibly fortunate to have a partner like London Pulse to support us in this; their commitment to the expansion of netball internationally is especially helpful and welcome for a young organisation such as ours. We look forward to continuing to work with them on future initiatives.”
Having the opportunity to work on such a project with London Pulse, a leading member of the VNSL competition, is a boost for Netball France at this stage in their development journey, but the collaboration was also a natural fit. The two organisations are closely aligned in values, with both having a particular focus on making netball a more inclusive sport, and London Pulse having done a lot to make netball a global game; paving the way for the likes of Netball France and other fledgling netball nations to find their place within the international netball community. “We are delighted to be able to work with Netball France at this early stage of its growth, to help deliver training to netballers in Europe, and to help Netball France grow.” says Sam Bird, CEO and Director of Netball at London Pulse.
