Netball France’s Performance Pathway is designed to further support the development and progression of talent identified athletes who have the potential to progress into successful senior international athletes. The programmes within the pathway are focused on developing athletes to reach their potential and form the foundations to enable Netball France to sustainably move up the World Rankings.
The diagram below shows how athletes can progress up the pathway once they reach the next level in age and ability.
Please note that whilst these programs are all steps on the Performance Pathway and there may be some crossover between programs, they are three separate programs. Progression and re-selection is not automatic, selections will be made in line with the selection policy for the appropriate level, and each program has a different goal.
The Netball France Development Hub is the first step on our Performance Pathway. It provides athletes access to a development/performance environment where athletes will experience training and competition. It is delivered in a local and/or online format.
The Development Hub’s over-arching principles are:
The Junior National Squad is the second step on our Performance Pathway. It provides athletes access to a development/performance environment where they will experience training and competition, may have opportunities to represent France at junior international level, and focuses on developing talent. It is delivered in a camp based format.
Les Bleus, our Open National Squad, is the final step on our Performance Pathway. It provides athletes access to a performance environment where they will experience training and competition, and these athletes may be selected for competition teams to represent France on the international stage in international ranking matches. It is delivered in a camp based format.
