The Coupe de France de Netball is Coming to Paris!

THE COUPE DE FRANCE DE NETBALL IS COMING TO PARIS!

Mark your diaries for September and get ready to test your team against those from across France.

Netball France is excited to confirm the inaugural ‘Coupe de France de Netball’ will take place on Saturday 25th September 2021 at the British School of Paris (COVID permitting). The tournament will host 18 teams from across France competing across three divisions – Open A, Open B and Juniors, for those born in 2003 or later.

In keeping with Netball France’s aspiration to be an inclusive, modern organisation driven by respect, integrity and community among other things, the tournament will be open to all genders, with registration details to be mailed to all Netball France clubs in the coming week. Following long months of confinement, closures of gyms and facilities, alongside much uncertainty, we can’t wait to bring the netball community in France together, to celebrate some healthy competition, good sporting spirit and the unity that the netball clubs and players are helping us to build around the sport in France.

Following the tournament, on Sunday 26th September, a netball taster day for juniors born in 2003 or later, will be led by players from England’s premier netball competition, the Vitality Netball Super League (COVID permitting). This clinic is open to juniors of all genders and abilities – both those who have played netball before and those who are completely new to the sport. The taster day will be great opportunity to learn more about netball and try it out in a safe, non-competitive environment, and will be the first of what we hope to be many of such events held around France, to help drive awareness of the game among the young people of France.

“One of Netball France’s core objectives in developing and growing the sport in France, is to offer more opportunities to discover and play netball across the age groups,” said Netball France President Bethany Lord. “This taster clinic is a great first step for us, and we’re really excited to be able to offer the opportunity for our juniors to meet and be coached by VNSL players and introduce them to all that the sport can offer. We hope to see as many juniors as possible on the day.”
